What to do with flat tire

Getting a flat tire is not to be dismissed as inconsequential circumstance when you are driving. Sure, there are times when it IS just a flat tire, but it can be so much more. A flat tire can lead to a serious life-threatening accident.

I remember a friend getting involved in an accident due to a flat tire. Thank goodness he wasn’t hurt, but his car was (he needed to have a look at car insurance quotes after that).

Are you willing to take that risk to yourself and your property? Of course not!

So today I would like to share with you some things that will help you when you get a flat tire on the road.

When Changing a Flat Tire…

  • Make sure that the vehicle is off the road and not parked on a sloping shoulder.
  • Set the parking brake and switch on the warning flashers.
  • Block both front wheels with large rocks or bricks.
  • Position the jack properly before you raise the vehicle.
  • Remove the tire even before raising the vehicle with the jack.
  • Keep a close eye on bystanders. Make sure no one is standing too close. Also, there should be no passengers inside the vehicle.

Never take chances when you’re driving. Always make sure to check all the important details before you leave – engine, brakes, oil – everything. And don’t forget, always keep a cool head when driving!
